Lee Friedman began his career as a professional photographer in New York and Paris where he was fortunate to have assisted several top photographers such as Mario Testino, David Seidner, Santé D'Orazio, and, ultimately, a two-year stint with Steven Meisel. Subsequently establishing his own studio, Lee shot fashion, still-life and portraiture for clients including Vogue, Esquire, GQ, Harper's Bazaar, W, Bergdorf Goodman, Knopf, MTV, and The New York Times Magazine, among many others.

Lee holds a BFA in photography from Pratt Institute and an MFA in graphic design from RISD. He has been an adjunct professor at California College of the Arts (CCA), and has also taught at the Rhode Island School of Design, San Francisco Art Institute, University of San Francisco, and the State University of New York at New Paltz.
